The Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center (FUSCC) holds the distinction of being China's first cancer specialist hospital, founded in 1931 as the Sino-Belgian Radium Institute. Now treating over 590,000 outpatients and 22,000 inpatients annually, it is one of the highest-volume oncology centres in Asia.
